Leila, the post didn’t define abuse as a part of pedophilia ‘attraction’, when the post names the word ‘pedophile’ he meant this:
“As always, I use the term ‘pedophile’ to mean someone with an attraction to children and ‘pedophilia’ to mean the attraction to children itself. This attraction can be sexual, romantic, and/or emotional. This is entirely separate from child sexual abuse, child pornography (I prefer the term ‘sexually harmful imagery’), and other sexual crimes against children.”

In reply to `. Oh the comment posted here, i meant to leila. He said the term pedophile means the attraction to them but not abuse, he explained his definition up there. But i dont really know about this or make opinions im just saying the definition on this post is abuse isnt supposed to related to pedophilia attraction so leila may be wrong idk

As someone who was sexually abused at 4-10 years old, doing anything sexual with a minor is mentally damaging, and cause years of psychological issues. Most of the time, they haven’t even hit puberty yet, so they have no sexual desires, or urges. There should be no debate on non-contact to pro-contact. I do, however, agree we should allow people with these desires to openly talk about their problems because under the dsm it’s a mental illness, or sometimes related to be sexually abused themselves. The hate towards pedophiles are often due to mental damage the ones who have sexually abused children have caused those individuals. For instance, I hate adult men for years because of the abuse I underwent. I was angry. I had PTSD, body dysmorphia, and BPD due to everything I endured. I remember feeling as though I was an alien, and I didn’t look like anyone else which was the side effects of being sexually abused. Even at the age of 4 I knew what my father was doing wasn’t right, and I didn’t even know what sex was for the most part. I felt like something was very wrong in my chest. Those who do this to children deserve no remorse. I have every right to be angry. If you feel this way please seek help.
